We were so disappointed to have canceled this summer’s Creative Musicians Retreat (CMR) in Dublin, New Hampshire. In its place, Walden has decided to offer an online experience to which we warmly invite you to apply and register. Please join us for a week of music-making from home! We’re taking advantage of the technology available to us to bring together our unique community online, and have planned a slate of activities aligned with what we offer in New Hampshire each year.
We are so fortunate and excited to have an incredible team of accomplished and experienced Walden faculty leading our week together, including:
-Alexander Christie
-Renée Favand-See
-Caroline Mallonee
-Loretta Notareschi
-D. J. Sparr
Additionally, the following amazing artists-in-residence will lead workshops, teach lessons, and perform new works by participants in the Walden Online Creative Musicians Experience:
-Lisa Bielawa, composer-in-residence
-Thomas Colohan, conductor
-Matthew Gold, percussion
-Eric Huebner, piano
-Mivos Quartet, ensemble-in-residence
All enrolled participants will be invited to join up to two classes, take two private lessons (one composition & one instrumental), and may attend numerous workshops offered throughout the week. We are partnering with Lisa Bielawa’s Broadcast from Home initiative, and enrollees will be able to participate in that endeavor as part of the Online Creative Musicians Experience. Composer-participants may have a solo piece workshopped by the performers, receive a recording, and take part in a public Composers Forum at the end of the week.
The price for Walden’s Online Creative Musicians Experience is $750. Some need-based financial aid is available.
Space is limited. Applicants to/admitted participants in Walden’s (now-cancelled) 2020 Creative Musicians Retreat in Dublin, New Hampshire, will be given priority in enrollment in the Online Creative Musicians Experience.
We hope you will join us. Walden’s Online Creative Musicians Experience is open to all creative musicians (ages 18+) who have completed high school.
