Description
For SATB, SSAA, or TTBB Chorus, 3’15” Words and music by Loretta K. Notareschi
So Live! is a tribute to our loved ones who have died, and a reminder to the living that we may find joy in the midst of grief. It was written for the women’s choir Safonia in memory of Emily Manion Roebken (1985-2017), the first music performance major at Regis University, where Notareschi is a professor of music. Sadly, Roebken died by suicide following a struggle with maternal mental illness.
Suicide is the second leading cause of death for women following childbirth in the United States. Help is available.

Fear not the world’s sorrow. Sadness colors every life. And every life knows joy. Not unending, as we wish, but in measure. So live! Let your joy shine from you. The world waits in darkness for your light.
Fear not the world’s grief. Every living being dies. And all the dead live on. Not in heaven, as they say, but in us. So live! Let their memory shine from you. The world waits in darkness for your light.
